Come visit and learn more about the beneficial uses of herbs!

THRIVE TONIC is a hit! Clients reorder and don't want to miss a day of it. It is an herbal tonic of 18 different herbs that offer great nutrition and help to diminish the negative effects of stress and so much more. Go to www.thrivetonic.com

The May 2007 issue of the Herb Companion has an article Merry wrote abut her research on 80 antique herb boxes from the oldest pharmacy in the oldest town in Montana. She was able to interview her teacher, Michael Moore, to get his scholarly perspective on the collection. Subsequent to the publication of this article, Merry received a second set of herb boxes and vials from the same source. It is definitely a seperate collection and may represent a different time in the evolutionof pharmaceutical medicine. Merry is working on a second article to analyze this new aquisition and is again interviewing Michael Moore who has valuable insights into this time when herbal medicine was still used by pharmacists as the big pharmaceutical companies were just developing. circa 1920.

Merry's new book, Herbs for All, Herbal Knowledge for  Home, Kitchen, Garden and Healthcare, has been well received and is in its second printing. It is available in bookstores, nurseries and gift shops in Utah and beyond. Get yours ordered early to give as gifts for the holidays at www.herbsforallbook.com.

The herb trips are finished for the 2008 summer season but Merry is already planning to renew her permit for the Wasatch Mountain State Park tour for 2009. The variety of plant life at the different elevations was fantastic in July and August, and everyone enjoyed the cooler weather at the higher elevations.

Since 1998, Merry has been researching the contents of a 500 year old Native American Bundle that was found in a remote area of Southern Utah. She received a grant from the Utah Native Plant Society that went toward her efforts to identify the botanical parts. HerbalGram magazine (Summer 2002 Issue #55) published  a feature article on her research that includes 20 detailed color photos by Jim Blazik.
